Ok so in my comments I got asked about the boy. To that I would reply that
he is currently enjoying a long trip around the world and that the time we spent together was precious. Really. But I don't do long distance relationships and I think that things went down perfectly the way they did. He'll always be a great friend and really, who knows what the future holds...lol! (oh don't worry, I wallowed a great deal in the past month to be able to be this lucid)
Ok back to normal life.
I'm currently in a mode where I need things to move. I've been going out and spending a lot of time with friends but I'm also in the process of applying for a program called the
Ship for World Youth. It's a leadership program that takes delegations from all over the world and puts them on a huge boat for 6 weeks. Basically there's a bunch of seminars and workshops about youth involvement, volunteerism and just the world generally. I want this sooooo badly! I feel like a kid who's going to throw a tantrum is I don't get in! But realistically, about 500 people apply and they pick 11 (!!!!!) for the canadian delegation but I don't care. I'll apply every year that Canada is invited until I get in. This year's itinerary is a simple one that only goes to Japan, Tonga, Vanuatu and New Zealand...you know...nothing special...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I want this!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, you'll all be posted on what happens if anything does.
On the knitting front, things are happening. I finished my
Spring Forward Socks (need to post pics asap) and I couldn't help but start swatching for
Thermal. I've wanted one since I saw the pattern. Looks so damn comfy! I've got 15 skeins of
Rowan Rowanspun 4-ply and I'm liking it so far. It's a sticky yarn though so I'm guessing that it might be a little scratchy against the skin...we'll see after I block my swatches. Yes. I said block my swatches. And no. I'm not sick. I want to be a more skilled knitter and I'm doing my best to be proud of my projects...
Anyhow, I'm off and it won't be a week until my next post...
Toodles!
