I've been trying to blog, but I don't or barely have time to myself right now. I think that I'll reward myself for being able to cope with 2 kids, with a bit of knitting time tomorrow afternoon at my LYS...
Alright, I'm off to sleep!

Bad Blogger!
I don't mean the system...I mean me! With the semester over (thank fucking jebus!), I thought it would be wind down and knit and chill time. WRONG! My sister is in Senegal and we (and by we I mean I) are taking care of my nieces. Don't get me wrong, these kids are my favorite humans alive. They kick ass! They're inquisitive, sneaky and sometimes very close to resembling some form of satanic spawn. You can understand why I think they're the cats pajamas BUT, no one informs the girl who wants to help that said nieces would take over my LIFE and my BEDROOM. 3 week. No. Privacy. None. Nada. Zip. It really wouldn't be as trying if they didn't snore. Shit. my 7 year old, angel-faced niece snores like a 65 year old man who's had a drink to many. I just sit in bed and laugh most nights. Even Serge has given up. He sleeps on the dining room table now in a position not unlike this one...
Anyhow, all this to say that I have to send some serious respect to those of you with school-going children. This past week and a half (yay, halfway point) has allowed me to see that the baby part is fun, but once they have homework...*vomiting sounds*. So...here's me sending you all props: PROPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok. Back to normal blogging please! I promised you some pics from my birthday. Here are a couple!

Here's me with some good looking fellas (friends) looking seriously less drunk than I actually was...

My very serious mom...she kicks ass like it's no one's buisness!

My dad, working the hat, and my niece who wanted to eat cake rather than pose for pics

My eldest niece (9 yrs old already!) and myself, both of us wanting to eat cake rather than pose for pics...LOL
Anyhow, you get the jist of it. It was a wonder-tastic-licious birthday and just a really nice time with some good friends and my horendous family (my evil big brotherthey made me wear 3 birthday hats at the same time...no pics of that for you!).
Next post...knitting content!!!!! (yes, I still knit!)

Post-birthday wrap-up...
So after much partying and dancing and fun-ness, I must say that I'm very content with my birthday celebrations (pics to come once Blogger stops acting up). We partied hard and it was goooooood!
On sunday, we had a family brunch. There was choucroute garnie involved as well as many balloons. My nieces went all out and harrassed their mother into buying balloons and streamers and birthday hats for my birthday. It was such a sweet thought and made the afternoon even sillier (try getting a birthday hat on Serge...now THAT is silly!). We had cake (of course) and then my parents sprang the most amazing birthday gift on me. They're shipping me off to Senegal for a month. So I leave mid-may for 4 weeks of african adventure!!!!!!!!! After that, I'll hop up to Europe for a few weeks (Ireland and the UK as originally planned). Everything is going sooooo fast, I can't believe it! So technically, I should be gone between 6 and 8 weeks, from mid-may to mid-july. Can you believe it? I certainly can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6.47 am
Ok well be warned that this is cheesy...but I don't care :D
I was born at 6.47am and since birth, every birthday morning that I've spent at home gives me the warm and fuzzies. My mom gets out of bed and sneaks into mine. She usually wakes me up by rubbing my back OR stealing the blanket (when she falls asleep). The past few times I've been here, we've also gotten into having killer conversations while lying there. We laugh, she talks about seeing her youngest child become an adult and then we just make fun of me as a baby (which is always funny). This morning was no exception though all we did was laugh since Serge was groaning and farting while taking up a huge chunk of the bed. We weren't too mean about laughing at him since it's his birthday too. It was the perfect way to wake up today!
Anyhow, here's to another year and to great moments like this one :D
Happy saturday!!!!!!

Maybe it was something I ate?
I had a really bad feeling about stuff earlier and I was half right. My brother and I were trying to screw in my new curtain rod holder thingy (highly technical term) and first the drill wasn't working, then the screws were to small, then the screws were too short. We finally managed to get the thing up and the minute I slip into bed...BANG, the whole thing come crashing down. Booo!
I have a really long weekend ahead of me. I'm working a trade show all weekend through the office...no sunlight for me...but it seems like there are going to be a bunch of vendors so I'll definetly do what I can to walk around and I'll take pics of anything fun/wierd that could be fun to post on here...
No knitting for me...which sucks. Yesterday was the knitting thing. It was fun! I felt a little bad, but I sat away from the group all night, but then again, we were a lot of people. Véronik showed up with huge bags of yarn to give. We were all very happy. I took 2 skeins, I'll try to get some pics outside (yes, it's not below freezing anymore...in the afternoons...) with natural sunlight to show youz peeps.
Alright, goodnight!

I love spring in Montreal
Yesterday I spent the afternoon exploring Montreal with a German couchsurfer who was only in town for a day. We walked like mad, saw a lot of cool things and complained about the fact that there was actual crap snow falling from the sky.
We started with some killer lunch at L'Aromate D'Asie (have the duck, you'll thank me later!) and then hopped on the metro all the way down to the Old Port. We visited, walked around, I pretended that I knew what I was talking about...the regular thing that locals do when they have friends in from out of town! We then went on a little guided tour of Montreal's Basilica (which was shockingly very interesting!). Next on the list was Chinatown where we had an adventure involving an ATM with no proper slot for the card but rather a bottomless hole, chopsticks, gum and the spirit of McGuyver. We looked like such criminals sticking chopsticks in the machine trying to get a credit card out, but people just smiled at us when passing by...hmm...anyhow, all that matters is that we were successful (many people had dropped their cards in the machine and it took more than one try to get the corect card out...)
After that adventure, we figured that we should reward our McGuyver-ness with some poutine, so we walked all the way to the Village to get some. Then we walked to the Mt-Royal(which is a mountain, not a hill!). Had a beer with a cool film-maker and then went out for the BEST smoked meat in the world at Schwartz's (medium-fat of course!). Never in my life have I seen a tourist so elated at the taste of a sandwich...
I then went home and had a heart attack from all that horrid food clogging up my arteries...I didn't knit at all, but I just wanted to tell you all about my fantastic day! Sometimes you tend to forget how cool your city is!
Kilometers walked: 7 (that's about 4 miles)
Time we took to do all these (and other) shenanigans: 7 hours
Pictures of me pulling a McGuyver: 1 (when I get it, I'll post it)
