Update

I just wanted to apologize to those who read the last post (which was thankfully deleted), I was not well. I never spoke about it on the blog but I burnt out/had a bit of a breakdown a couple of years ago and it's biting me in the ass these days. I'm making sure to rest extra and get plenty of fruits in me (vitamins make me happier!). This is why I haven't updated much recently, well that and midterms *vomiting sound*.

Last weekend, I went up to Québec City for some Carnival. It was cold. Fun, but cold. Most of my time was spent jumping up and down outside to warm up or drinking pints with friends. We were about 60 which was nice, tons of new friends to make :D Here's my favorite moment:

Some people are a little too intense for me. They got in their bathing suits and spent 15 minutes in teh snow. One group did it for charity which was cool, but seriously, who wants to play in the snow, while naked (almost) in temperatures of -40C (-40F). Anyhow...

On the knitting front, i'm 10 rows from the cowl of the Placed Cable Aran. I love LOVE knitting this sweater. THe yarn (Cascade Eco) is terribly scrumptious-rific and the pattern is mindless enough for me to knit it in the metro or while watching some tv. Check out what it looked like earlier this week(without proper lighting)...


Finally, here's a gratuitous kitty picture. Serge was not very happy about my leaving him for a couple of days...here's what I came home to...


We made up 10 minutes later (i.e. once I gave him cat treats...).

Me and my tight assed knitting

Never in the history of my FO's has one gotten so much use (except for my thrummed mittens...mmm). The Fuzzy Feets keep me warm. Yay!

I casted on a couple of days ago for the Placed Cable Aran. Yes, I know that I should be finishing Arwen, but I just don't want to! I'm knitting this puppy in the round à la E. Zimmerman (thank you AliP for lending me the book) and I have to say, this is a smart ass idea! So far, I have about 10 inches knit on the body (i knit during music breaks on the radio...mwahahahahaha...on the metro and possibly all afternoon yesterday) and have a couple of rows to go before I attack the cable pannels. I'm using Cascade Eco yarn. This stuff is like crack! It's comfy-ly thick but not bulky and knits up gorgeously. There will be pics once it's more than a big stockinette tube (which should be soon enough).

I also CO for the Bird in Hand mitts. I'm making them for the cold-handed Jennie.

Oh! While swatching for PCA (that's what it'll be called for now), I finally realized how tight a knitter I am! The pattern should technically be knit on 5mm needles. To get gauge...I had to go up to 6.5mm. *blank stare* I almost feel bad for the yarn from previous projects just all squooshed and mushed together into tight fabric...Hmmm...

Because I'm a Harry Potter geek...
