It smells like spring. I've stepped in freshly thawed dog poo. Serge spends his days lying in whatever ray of sunshine he can find. It is officially spring. The countdown to Serge and my birthday is on. Only 7 days until he turns 2 and I turn 24! I don't know how we're going to celebrate, but there will definetly be some shindig-ness at some point.
I love spring, it means that summer isn't far off and it's pretty outside. So pretty that I actually slapped on a pair of heels this morning to head to work. I haven't fallen on my ass just yet, but the day is still young.
In the knitting department, as you can see by my FO column, I finished the Placed Cable Aran and the Commute socks. I'm just too
lazy busy getting ready for finals to bother with taking pics of them. Actually, with the PCA I've run into a little snag. Since I don't like seaming (not so much not like as much as suck at...), I knit it in one piece à la Elizabeth Zimmerman (thanks
AliP fo lending me the book!) and well, she talks about letting a stitch unravel to create a psudo seam and for some reason, it doesn't look like a seam. I'm tempted to say it looks more like shit on a stick than a seam...anyone ever do this and it actually worked?
Anyhow...since I don't have any socks on the needles, I CO for a pair of Dream Twister Socks (you can find the pattern on the lovely Mona's
blog) in Cherry Tree Hill supersock. Here's a pic of the yarn I took a while back...

I think it's going to make some mighty pretty socks! Very spring-y!
Anyhow, happy saturday everyone!

Correct me if I'm wrong (it's late and I'm too lazy to go dig up my EZ books), but for the faux seam...aren't you supposed to let the stitch ladder down and THEN hook it back up, 2 at a time? (As in, if you have 40 rows completed, you hook up 2 loops at a time as if they were a double-stranded stitch, and end up with 20 stitches hooked up)? I seem to recall there was something more to it than just letting the stitch drop.
Nice writing, K! It was great visiting your blog. And very Happy Birthday wishes (albeit early) to both you and Serge!!
Cheers, Jenny P.S. Looking forward to seeing your hanknit socks from that pretty yarn!
The Cherry Tree Hill looks delicious! Gotta get me some! (I don't own any! LOL)
You and Serge share a birthday? COOL!
