Feeling a little more Christmassy

Last night was my Christmas party with some of my girlfriends from university. This year, our gift theme was "kits". Basically, when you got your draw, you just had to come up with a kit for them. Simple enough! Well I drew my friend Mel, got her a bunch of booze and bad movies as well as the Pomatomus' for her "chicks night in" kit. I got a "while you're waiting to go to Ireland" kit. Check it out!

Oh yeah! I got U2 by U2 (best band EVER!), a Guiness (best beer EVER!), some Baileys, dark chocolate and coffee. I love my friends!

Knit nights

Last thursday, Ariadne held it's first knitting night. It was super fun, we talked, fondled yarn and laughed a lot. Here are some pics of the happy faces there.

There's Mona, Deawn, AliP and the blogless Janet

And there's Karine and "Jane"(who was fighting a FIERCE cold), who brought her knitting brother along so that we could see what a knitting boy looks like!

And here are some LONG overdue progress pics! First we have the Monkey socks. I love this pattern. It's so easy to remember and quick to knit. I started them a few days ago and I'm already turning the heel on sock one.

Next up is Montego Bay scarf made of sexy sexy Sea Silk. It's my mom's Christmas gift. I really like this pattern. It's rather mindless, so it's nice to knit during movies and in the bus and stuff.

Other than this, there's Arwen. Yes, I've picked up the needles again last week. I have a good 50 rows left to the hood and then...*to "can't touch this"* seaming time! It's not worth taking a pic since it's nothing other than a big orange blob. Otherwise, that's about it!

Happy knitting!

New LYS, new FO, no more school...

I'm a very happy person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The girls from Ariadne just opened a store and we went for a knitting night on thursday. It was great fun, there was lovely yarn to pet and some killer company. I have a feeling that I'm going to be sitting around by their fake fireplace quite often...hehehe...

Second, yes, there's a new FO in the house of K...My Wyvern socks!

Now I don't LOVE the colors, but it was a test knit, so it's normal that they aren't perfect. The yarn still came out über squishy and considering the socks right now, I can officially say, I like these quite a bit! The pattern was super easy to memorize and these turned into a perfect commuting socks. Here's a close-up of the pattern, I totally dig it!

Finally, school is out for the holidays! Woot woot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a few more things that I should mention, but it'll wait until I plug my camera and get something out of it.

Until then, take it easy!!!

Holy banana's there is a fuckload of snow outside. Of course...this is when our snowblower decides to stop working.

Sheesh!!

If like is a box of chocolates, in the past few days, I've only been picking the poo filled ones. You see...there's this french guy...*sigh* there's always a french guy! Well, he was here for a year...we canoodled for a few months...and in 12 hours, he go bye bye back to his land of fries and toast (and no, I don't mean Freedom land...). Well yesterday was his going away party (yes, I cried, I'm a sucker for goodbyes) and then this afternoon, he and I said goodbye. Whew...not an easy 24-48 hours. I spent a good part of the day in bed today, bawling like a 5 year old with a skinned knee...but I feel better now. Although we've decided to go our very separate ways, someone is quite excited at the idea of visiting a certain *adorable* knitter in Ireland *wink wink nudge nudge*

I missed out though, the ladies from Ariadne were opening their store. Maybe if I pass by tomorrow I can score some yarn to celebrate my re-official singleness...then again, if it's a day that ends with a "y" yarn acquirement should be mandatory...no?

Knitting content to come soon!
