WIP's

Ok, so here's a rundown of my WIP's.

First off, we have the ever beautiful Arwen!

This is the completed left front pannel. It took me really long to finish since I had to rip it out due to a "little cable booboo..."

Here's the progress pic of the right front pannel:

Now, on to some socks...(yeah yeah, I know I have yet to finish a single pair...)

I give you...unfinished green cable socks!

Ta-da...unfinished Jaywalkers!

Oh yes, and my newbies: plain socks (for when I'm in the metro) out of Patons Kroy

So there you have them, my WIP's...

No, that's a lie. There's one more, but it's packed away. It's Lift & Separate from Big Girl Knits, I ran out of yarn for it...Yes, I know, that's not an excuse for hiding it away...hopefully, it'll make a comeback soon enough...Sorry I have no pic of it now, but it kinda just looks like a big black alpaca blob...

So there! I've officially participated in the 6th SP10 contest! Yaaaaaaaaay!

Happy knitting!

Why I've been missing and other fun things...

Man I wish I could say that I've been MIA because of some adorable/smart guy that I met...but that would be a lie. I've been busy with school association stuff. It's keeping me in meetings until past midnight. Might I remind you all that I'm supposed to be on vacation here??...I've also been spending some time with a really close friend. She's going to be my boss this summer. Yes ladies and germs, I've gottenmy self a job. I don't call it a job as it's more fun than anything, but I'll be heading back to being a camp councillor. Yep...back to my roots! I'm just a little scared because I injured myself in april (i don't know if I posted about this but whatever) and my knee still isn't 100% back...I went to get myself a knee brace, I need to go try it out tomorrow, my official return to the gym (I'm soooo scared to do something wrong and hurt myself, but I'm gonna do it, my doctor gave me the all clear), but I wore it around all day today because of the humidity and I felt super supported in the knee-cap area.

Anyhow, let me talk about other things...I have some knitted related things to post about! *gasp* I know...shocking! Watch out....here come a shit load of pics!

My Secret Pal sent me a lovely lovely package! In it, there was some fucking scrumptrulescent (yes...you read right...it's my blog and I'll make up words if I want too...!) chocolate with bits of toffee in it. *drool* There's also a really cool spindle and some natural colored alpaca! The roving was kindly donated by a baby alpaca named Mufasa. How cool is that? It really cool, she started spinning a bit of the roving and left me some drafts since I'd sent her an email asking questions about drafting methods and just spinning in general. This is making me completely obssessed with the idea of spinning me some sexy yarn...I can't wait!!!!!! My kick ass pal also sent me a much needed purse. This great goodie has been put to good use ever since it came out of the enveloppe. It's been out knitting with me, it's been out drinking...yeah...that's pretty much all my nights consist of these days... I must take a minute and tell you all about the fantabulous (uh huh!) lining to this bag. Now, those of you reading who've been reading my blog have probably understood that I'm not usually detail oriented BUT, this is a kick ass lining. Check it out:

Simple and pink...my personnal preference!

It's so cute, I think Serge went a little nuts when he smelled alpaca...I taught him well...muhahahhhahahaha!

"Purrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

Well...other than that...nothing really, I'll post about my WIP's tomorrow for an SP10 contest!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Before I go! I need to say a big fat thanks to Anita (who is blog-less). When I participated in Robyn's stitch marker swap, I had some serious mail issues. I had gotten one set of stitch markers out of five and NONE of mine made it to my partners (never mail something out from UQÀM...), sweet Anita sent me a second set of stitch markers. A couple of days later, her first set arrived at my place. I thought it was funny. Strange. But funny. Here's a pis of the GORGEOUS stitch markers she made me (this is a pic of the second set, the first one will be posted later this week)

Ta-Da! Thank you Anita!

Happy Knitting!

Non punctual blogging...

I'm a baaaaaad blogger. I haven't posted in quite a while but it doesn't mean that I haven't been checking out all of your blogs or that I haven't been knitting. I've been consumed with my other obsession (no, it's not Ravelry), it's Couchsurfing. I've gotten super involved lately beacuse I'm not travelling this summer. I know, I need to get over it BUT the idea of not doing anything this summer totally sucks. I'm also going to volunteer at the Montreal Fringe Festival. I don't know what I'll be doing there yet, but it's going to be super cool!

What else is going on? I have been knitting! I'm almost to the grafting of the cuff. I can't wait to just be done with the front. I think I can do it by the end of this week. Socks are also coming along nicely. I don't know why I challenged myself to knit so many...maybe I'm just in a sock knitting funk...

Oh! This weekend, I went shopping with my mom and for the first time in my aadult life, I BOUGHT DRESSES!!!!!!!! I now own 2, yes yes, not one, but two dresses. Now I'm just looking forward to having an even to wear them to.

Speaking of events, next weekend, I'm headin' down to TO with the wonderful Robyn to see the Harlot. I plan on doing some SERIOUS yarn buying...muhahahhahahahahahahahahahaha! It's gonna be GREAT!

I'm going to try to take some pics of Arwen and maybe of Serge to post this week!

Happy knitting to all!!!!!

**warning** if you pee your pants laughing, it's not my fault...

Ok...it might not be THAT funny, but I laugh like crazy every time I watch this. Don't get me wrong, discrimination isn't a good thing, far from it, but sometimes, we have to be able to laugh simply because it's funny. Keep in mind that laughing everyday helps you forget about crumby things going on for at least a couple of minutes...Please don't flame me in comments if you don't like this, but if you enjoy it...well...you're welcome!

:-D

Lazy monday

I've been under the weather for the past few days. What I thought was allergies is actually a cold, but I'm getting much better. It allowed me to hang out in bed all day today and do some knitting! I ripped out the new Regia sock because uno, I'm used to knitting with 2.75mm or 3mm needles and I bought myself (well treated is more like it) a 100cm 2.25mm Addi circ. It's great, but I need to adjust my instinctive sock pattern (I'm so cocky!) a little. But ripping that out gave me another idea. I had some Patons Kroy yarn and I thought...hmmm maybe I can try making two socks at once on one circ. I figured it out thanks to this tutorial. It went well, we'll see what happens as time goes by.

This afternoon, I took matters in my own hands and made progress on Arwen. I need a couple more pattern repeats before I can CO for the sleeve. Can't wait!!!!!

Happy knitting!

Wednesday night

I spent all day shopping with the other K today (the one I went to Ireland with). I got myself the new Feist CD and found out she'll be in town in early june. *shrieking like a teenaged boy band fan* OhmygawdIMUSTgetaticket!!!!!!!! I also picked up some stuff for swaps and for a double birthday/going away party for two friends of mine. The bitches, one is going to Cuba for two months of international coop and the other is going to work in Sweden for the summer. I will be in Montreal...doing physio...woo-fucking-hoo...!

I started another sock during the knitting thing, a plain one in Regia canadian colours. The new kind is called Esprit and it's über pretty!

What else is going on...nothing really I think...I'll sleep on it and tell you more about it soone enough!

Happy knitting!

Happy Humpday...

The summer interweave previerw is out! Click here to get a peek. Oh man...so many things that I want to knit! I have to say, how cool is it that local superstar designer Véronik Avery named a sweater after the neighbourhood! I now have to put it on my list of things to knit. There's also the Josephine top which looke really pretty as well as the Luvtröja Måns, a man sweater that I don't want my brother to see bause he'll make me knit it. There's also the Montego Bay scarf that looks really pretty...UGH! Anyhow, let's just say that I'm definetly going to buy this issue!

The yarn pimps just received a new sock booklet which I abso-fucking-lutely NEED! What...! It's for the sock challengs! *grins*

Speaking of socks, they're just not moving as quickly as I wish they would...I really must try to knit two at once soon, otherwise, I might not make my deadline! Anyhow... I'm also knitting Arwen a little too...allows me to knit with something bigger than a 2.75mm needle for a bit...

Anyhow...I had promissed to post a birthday pic! So here it is!

Ta-da! Me at 23!

Why the bunny ears you may ask? Well...my past 4 or 5 birthdays have collectively sucked ass. This year I went all out, I think I looked good, I partied hard and laughed a lot. So to answer the question truthfully...I don't know why I wore bunny ears, but it got us a lot of free shots! :-D **It has nothing to do with the fact that my birthday was riiiight before Easter weekend**

Happy knitting!

OMG!

I have a wifi signal at home!!!!!!!!! My sweet neighbour gave me his password so that I can use the web until we get a new modem. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am!

Without further ado, here's a pic of all the beautiful things my SP sent me.

There's some super sexy handspun baby alpaca (oh yes...I *heart* my SP!), some beautiful Reynolds Mandalay 100% silk, chocolate...mmm...chocolate, some cute greeting cards and a beautiful green Lantern Moon bag to carry my knitting around with me.

Other than that, what's going on? Oh yes, there's that minor thing that I FINISHED MY SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!! I love vacation! As an end of term present, my mom (what would I do without my momy!) bought me a little gift. It's something that I'd been coveting since I was in Paris last summer. I now own perfume. I know, I know, it's not a big deal, but I'm a really picky person. In the past, I'd only found one scent that I liked, it was Clinique Happy. I don't like it anymore. In Paris, I tried a derivate of my moms perfume (she's a No 5 lady, the embodiment of elegance to my nose) and I fell in love. So I now own a bottle of Chanel's Mademoiselle. Hihihihihi! I'm as giddy as a little girl.

In other news, the sock challenge is coming along. I'm almost done with the second pair (aka Jaywalker B and cable twist sock B), but I have to admit that I slacked off a bit on them because I was all about the term papers...Pics to come once they're done. I've also been looking around for other sock patterns, next challenge, some toe ups and maybe RPM's for the Lorna's Laces.

On a more shitty note, I don't know what's happening with my mail. I haven't gotten any more stitch markers from the swap and everyone has sent them out. The stitch markers that I've sent out also haven't shown up. I'm a little pissed and quite frankly don't know what to do...It's not just knitting stuff, I just got some tax receipts today that had been mailed out in February. Anyone out there ever go through something similar? Should I call Post Canada and see what's going on? UGH! I hope this gets resolved quick, it's a pain to me and to all those concerned.

Anyhow...I'll end this on a good note with a pic of my favorite sleeping buddy (get your minds out of the gutter please...*sigh*)

*singing* "I'm a model, you know what I mean, and I do my little turn on the CATwalk"

Oh lord...
