Lazy saturday

After my lazy friday yesterday (did nothing, bought a couple of movies, ate Pad Thai...mmm Pad Thai...), I decided that a lazy saturday was in order. I slept a full 12 hours (oh yes, it was THAT good), woke up, chilled out with Serge and out of the blue, my nieces showed up! I got to hang out with them for a few hours (they grilled me about what Serge and I want for the upcomming duo birthday). Then, I got to hang out on my balcony. Now can I just say that it was about fucking time that the weather stopped pissing me off! One more week of cold and wet muckyness and I would've declared war on mother nature. Now, we get great weather and the sun has been shinning alllllllll day long! Even Serge has enjoyed it by following the sun through the house so as to nap in the warm rays...(oh man, to live like a cat...)

Tomorrow, I think that I'm going to hit the Tam-Tams(every sunday in Montreal, on the Mount Royal, people gather to play african drums, simpletons like me just hang out and sometimes...SOMETIMES bust a move), I know there were some people there last week and I'm totally feeling the outdoor vibe!

In knitting news, nothing much is going on, Arwen and I are making slow progress, but any progress is good right? The sock is on a nano-hiatus just cause... Other than that...nada, and you know what, that feels amazing!

Happy weekend!

Finally, time for post!

So yes, I was a little sad yesterday that I had forgotten my blog-anniversary, but whatever, it's never too late to celebrate...yay!!!! Thanks to everyone who left me a comment wishing me happy blogging! So after two years, here's a pseudo recount of what's happened here.

Learned how to knit, met a bunch of really REALLY cool people while knitting, got addicted to knitting...Went to school, got annoyed with school, got motivated, stayed in school...Lived with the ex-man, went through a bit of a burnout, broke up with the ex-man, went to a few funerals, quit my job, went to Ireland, came back to Montreal, developped a new, happier perspective on life...Oh yes, and I got Serge...hehehehehe!

In a nutshell...those are the past two years...Now for some knitting content...

Now, last week, at the knitting thing, I got some seeeeeeeeeexy yarn from the yarn faeries...Check it out!

Yes people, that is some Lorna's Laces in Bittersweet...I don't see the bitter part, these socks are just plain old sweet to me!

I also hadn't show off my sexy green (hey, it's spring!) Rowan yarn that's going to turn into a pair of cable-ish socks...ready?

TA-DA! I love this colour, it's kinda more apple green in person and is definetly uber-soft!

There's also been some knitting happening at casa de K, observe exhibit A:

Yes i know, it looks like a sock, but actually, it's Opal Hunderwasser (yarn that's coloured based on a painting), ths colourway is called: Die Straße zum Sozialismus...pertty huh! The second sock is coming along well, note exibit B:

The second sock is actually quite further along than on this pic, I'm almost at the heel now!

Oh, yes, before I forget, Robyn is holding a little posting contest for her SP participants, so without firther ado, I give you my favorite knitting accessories:

Yes, it's a combo of two things...what's better than knitting while enjoying a good beer :-) There's also Knitting for Dummies which is my favorite knitting book...I dumbs everything down, as indicated in the title... (for when I've overindulged in favorite knitting accessory numero uno...hehehe)

So there...but what picture-full post would be complete without the presence of...Serge!

"What do you expect me to do other than fight...let me put a feather in your face, see if YOU like it..."

Happy knitting people!

Frustration!

I have a beautiful and soft wound skein of Cascade Eco+ and I know that I recently saw a pattern that uses one skein of said yarn. In a great moment of brain fartyness, I've forgotten about where I saw said pattern. This is why I'm imploring you all. If anyone finds a pattern that uses 1 skein of Cascade Eco+ please, PLEASE tell me...UGH...All this because I'm trying to figure out my list of things I want to knit so that I can prioritize.

More to come later about my favorite knitting accessory (it's for SP10) and about the sexy yarn that I got myself thanks to my favorite yarn teases...

Happy knitting!

Finally, some much needed pics are added to the blog!

I finally got myself a fucking USB key thingy and I'm glad to sa that FINALLY, there will be some pics on this blog! (yaaaaaay!!!!!) Now, finally, I get to show off my friend Arwen. Now, Arwen and I have hit a little snag in our friendship since I mucked up the cable pattern at some point. So here's what I had...

Here's what was wrong...

Here's what happened...

purr...alpaca...purr...*kick kick kick kick* purrrrr....

Now after I rescued my yarn for the orange claws of death (aka Serge), I regrouped, grabbed my needles and started again...*sigh* ...

So there, my first post with pics in a while! Now I still have to show you my socks (the ones I've finished and the ones I'm working on!) and I have to show you my favorite knitting accessory for an SP contest...that'll have to wait a little later today!

Happy knitting!

Almost spring...

...and we all know what that means right...a combination of things actually. First, there's spring cleaning (big whoop...). This year, I've decided that I was going to apply the ever fun of spring cleaning to ze blog. Yes ladies and germs, I'm trying to change the look of the blog. It helps that my sibling just got a new computy on which there is iWeb. Aaaaaaaah! I've been diddling around with it and it's idiot-proof (aka not necessarily me-proof) so I think that I'll mainly be using that. As a preview, here's the tile that I'll be using to create my backdrop. **Warning, if you don't like it...please don't tell me...hihihi!

I'm learning how to do this, so hopefully it doesn't take tooooo much time, but I think I should be good...If any of youz out there know anything about template designs, please, PLEASE contact me, you help will be highly appreciated.

In other spring news, I always find that Montreal becomes a big pot of steaming naughty energy when the temperature gets warmer. (Don't worry, I'm not going to delve into the topic) But I do have to be honnest...boys become soooo much more interesting when they're just walking around outside without a gigantor coat on... I expect the lot of single men out there to be extra adorable this spring *wink wink*...

In knitting news, I've finished a pair of socks (I even took a pic...which I can't post...*sob*) and have started a new pair today! Arwen is...well...that's a whole other post in itself... So yeah...I guess I'll find a way to put in more knitting news very very soon!

Happy knitting!

sitting in class...

i'm sitting in class and goddamn i'm bored...whew...you know that moment in Ferris Bueller when Ben Stein says this:

"In 1930, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, in an effort to alleviate the effects of the... Anyone? Anyone?... the Great Depression, passed the... Anyone? Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered?... raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression. Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics. "Voodoo" economics. "

Yeah, I feel like the student who sleeps in a pool of his own saliva on his desk...yup...that's me...will i ever get out of this place alive??????!!!!!????

SAVE ME PLEASE, SOMEONE!

All sorts of things to say...

But mainly is OW!!!!!!! Last year, around this exact time, I got a wisdom tooth pulled due to an infection (bla bla bla) and this year, what happens...SAME THING! I now look like a chipmunk (which is funny, i have to admit). Next week will be extraction time...woo...hoo...! The crappy thing is that I always get sick or hurt or the like when I'm in a super cheery mood. So now, due to my swollen cheeks, I can't smile cause it hurts but I'm in the best mood. This is all just too odd...

Anyways, in knitting news, I've finished a thrummed mit and just need to finish the thumb on the other. I'm also about to finish a pair of socks. Arwen is looking good, I'm almost done with the sleeve part and am going to start work on the hood soon. The only annoying thing is that I messed up (a little) in the cable pattern on the front edge. Now I don't know if it'll be noticeable, but I'm wondering if I need to frog it a little to fix it...any tips, suggestions?

Happy knitting!
