**Warning** MEGA rant ahead **Warning**

I'm quite the annoyed little bitch these days (when am I not?). I'm having terrible issues dealing with girls who feel the need to whore themselves out. I'm also fucking satiated with these very same girls coming to me the day after to tell me that they don't understand why people only think of them as a body. I just don't give a shit anymore. I can't keep letting people cry on my shoulder and then watch them make the same mistake over and over and over again just because it's fun to get ogled by boys. I'm not a conservative, but have some respect for yourselves please. It's just a pain to be around. *long exasperated sigh* I just thought I'd send the message out there.

And now back to our regular programming...

We've only just begun!

I borrowed the title from one of The Carpenter's songs to emulate the beginning of the holiday season; yes ladies and germs, it's official! With American Thanksgiving right behind us, it's the Holiday season! There's even a radio station that plays 24/7 holiday music from the 25th of November to the 25th of December. I know...freaky! I actually just finished watching Home Alone on the boob tube. I have to admit that I prefer the second one. I laugh to tears every time Marv gets bricks on the head. His whimpers are priceless! I'm laughing just thinking about it...I think that if I don't do anything else tonight, I'm going to be watching Love, Actually. Yeah, I know, I'm a sucker for a cheesy lovey dovey feel good holiday movie. I adore that movie, it always makes me cry but hey...I'm a single gal living in her parent’s basement with Serge...

Work on the show is coming along quite well. It's a grueling schedule but it's cool seeing everything coming together and seeing a show emerge.

In knitting news, I'm almost done with the second pink sock. I need to find more Lopi for the wavy scarf. Since the color I'm using has been discontinued, I'm thinking that to go with the eggplant color, I'll add a cream section and maybe a dark pink/fuchsia one too...I don't know...Anyhow...

Oh think of all the yummy foodie possibilities...

To those of you for whom this is pertinent...

Happy happy turkey day! I hope you're all having fun spending time with those you love, kicking off the holiday season and eating like crazy. American thanksgiving always seemed more fun than the canadian version...maybe because there aren't many films from here that show off turkey day...Oh well...that's enough thinking for one night, off to some well deserved sleep!

Happy knitting and happy pie...mmmm...pie....

Wednesday

It's wednesday aka humpday...I really have nothing to say these days, been setting up a stage since tuesday and won't be done until next week when the show starts and I'm handling all the lighting buisness. Fun times ahead, it's just that the 9 to 11 days are kinda going to take a toll hence, I don't know how often I'll post until the show ends i.e December 9th. So take care youz guyz and I hope that I can post soon!

Thought

As I don't have much to do this morning and I'm at school, this will be the morning of more than one post..should be fun! I'm off to work on the sock!

There's a serious problem here

It's 7.11 am and I'm at school...I want to cry...I'm scheduled to set up the stage for a show, which means that I'm not out of here until 11pm at the earliest. *sob*

How in the HELL did I miss this

Okay, there are a lot of people out there doing NaNoWriMo and I have serious respect for them. In no way whatsoever do I have the discipline to write 50 000 words in 30 days but this:

I found out about it through this blog which I found after one of those "I'm bored, how about I google-ise some radom stuff". (All hail Google!) So yes, I can't believe I missed an occasion to drink AND write. You can find more info here

I'll stop thinking about booze now and go knit...

Thursday

Usually, I'm off on thursdays. I get to sit around, read my school stuff and just cuddle with the cat...I had a fucking meeting at school at fucking 8.30 A-fucking-M. No, I'm not bitter...actually, I'm really happy that the meeting was at least interesting otherwise, I may have walked out. It was about all this hoopla. I'm still at school...*sigh*. Anyhow...I'm trying to get back into blogging regularly so expect a lot of mundane stuff and maybe eventually I'll come around to posting a knitting pic or even more fun *gasp* a Serge pic. (someone told me this week that he looks like an Ewok...I need youz guyz' opinion on this).

The second pink sock is still being worked on, the Lopi wavy scarf is as well but I really think I'm going to have to make it bi-racial (which is cool!). I'm thinking a cream color or maybe something really funky...like...teal to go with the eggplant color I already have going on. Hmm...

Ketchup

I was watching this movie and thought about the stupid Fox Force Five joke that Uma Thurman tells John Travolta...I thought it'd make a good title...It was witty in my brain...

Anyhow

The past week has been interesting. It involves a short roadtrip to a town far a-fucking-way, La Harlot in Montreal, a pink sock, school and of course some remeberance. Through all of this, I managed to sleep (albeit a little only), eat and get cuddles from Serge the Ewok (I must post a pic of him with his Jedi face on - OK I'm a super-dork...)

First and foremost, I want to extend some MEGA congrats to Jen on her post-honeymoon project. Yay!

Next, last friday, at the McGill library, we were graced with the presence of La Harlot, yes yes, LA Harlot!! She made me laugh a lot, she signed my book (huzzah!) and she even complimented my sock. You heard me peeps, she likes the sock so much, she posed with it...

I think her exact words were "I think I like it more than mine..." *sigh* MY sock compared to the ever popular travelling sock...I feel like a little schoolgirl...hihihihi!

Saturday was rememberance day. Please see the post on this. I'm a big fan of vets, they kick ass and are far too often forgotten...

Saturday is also when I left for Rimouski. It's a little place reallllllllly far away. I'm sure it's a great place, but I only saw a conference room for the 6 hours I was there. Just to give you some perspective, it's a 6 hour drive and we left Montreal at 11pm, stopped in St-Jean-Port-Joly to sleep (for 4 hours) and then hit the road again. Once we got to Rimouski, it was all business (student govt buisness which was as fucking interesting as you can imagine with 4 hours of sleep and 6 hours in a car right behind me). As soon as the meeting was done, we came home...at 2am... Mark my words, one day I'll go back and appreciate that place. Oh! During said conference/congress, I managed to finish the first pink sock (the harlotty sock...ok now I'm just getting cocky) and to cast on for the second. Go me!

Now I'm back home, I hit the yarn stores with Robyn earlier. Had a good time fondling some luscious yarns...*sigh* one day, I'll get enough yarn to make a sweater (I can hear you snicker back there...I know...I don't believe me either...) and actually make it. Wow this was a long post...Hopefully, next one, I'll have pics that I didn't have to steal off of Ms D's blog and maybe a couple involving the ever a-fucking-dorable Serge...

I'm off to watch Gilmore Girls (stop laughing at me people!)

Happy Knitting!

For the fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death August and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

I didn't forget, did you?

Woah...

I'm back! Midterms are over (got one grade back and I'm doing good), semester is almost over and it's almost Christmas! Eek! This is goiing to be another giftless holiday season for those around me since I don't think I have time to knit something for everyone (unless everyone gets a coin purse...and really...who wants that for the holidays?).

My life right now is hectic and nuts and crazy (but not necessarily in a bad way), but it makes for a wacky me as I have no ability whatsoever to do anything when I'm stressed out (which is...hmmm...ALWAYS). It's to the point where I've been thinking about taking a semester off to go work in Tremblant and just come back to Montreal once in a while...Ahh fantasy land...Lol! The only good part of my impending trip to the nuthouse is that I just figured out what I think I want to do this summer (yes I'm already thinking about summer), last year my plans to go to BC were smushed for a million different reasons, mainly that I was scared to leave alone. But I think I'm ready... I'm thinking me, Newfoundland...that's the extent of my reasoning so far. I'm sure it'll get clearer between now and May.

On the knitting front, I'm almost done with the first public transportation sock in a while. The wavy scarf in Lopi is comming out beautifully, esp in the eggplant color. I'm wondering if I shouldn't make it bi-racial like the Clap...meh...we'll see how long it ends up being in this one color...L&S is definetly on the back burner due to lack of yarn. I'm actually looking into doing my very first cable project (ooh!) I'm thinking a tuque...Anyhow...I really wish I could post pics, but for that, one needs a camera.

Til next time (which won't be a week away this time)

Happy Knitting!
