Friday

I'm really happy about this whole gym thing. I did an aquafitness class and it was really fun. Other than that, I've mainly been doing cardio. Tomorrow night, there's a boxing class which I think I'll join in on. It'll allow me to let go of some steam. I'm all pissed cause I can't figure out this spinning buisness. This summer, my SP had sent me a spindle and some roving and I've been trying and trying and trying...no yarn...just twisted roving...*sigh* In better news though, the back of Lift&Separate is looking super sexy!

Well I'm off to the theater, yesterday I saw La Dame aux Camélias and tonight, I'm going to see Andromak. But more on theater another day...

Accomplishments and a pic

Today, I walked my ass to the YMCA and got a membership. This is the biggest thing I've managed to do in a little while. I've decided to do something nice for me and to try and help myself feel better inside and out. So tomorrow (well...today) I'll probably not post since I'll be dead from going back to the gym. It's also the season premiere of Gilmore Girls (yes I know...but I can't help it...)!

Finally, with the cooperation of Blogger, here is my hommage pic of my brother and his hunter/fisherman-ness...

MIA, fall and life...

I've been sick...my big brother gave me some mega cooties so, I had a man cold for a week. I did manage to get a little bit of knitting done, I'm almost ready to start the back of Lift & Separate. It's a little annoying to have to knit 151 rows of 2x2 rib over 15 rows. It's not particularly time consuming, just annoying...I'm currently placing pins because over 151 rows, I have to pick up 121 stitches. I want this to be even and pretty. It's my first serious sweater project for myself that I want to see finished once and for all. *sigh* I'll get there!

I'm a little tempermental these days, mainly because I don't like the fall. It's not my favorite season at all, only second to winter. I just feel blech in the fall, the only thing that is sorta appreciate-able is the fact that knitting comes in handy at this time of year. Regardless...

Finally, fall is my siblings favorite time of year, he's a hunter and fisherman and since is out moose hunting, I thought I'd give hime a little web space!

**I was going to put a great pic of my brother holding a HUGE pike fish but blogger has decided to be a bitch, I'll try again later**

Regrets take 2

Okay, while I was in Cork, I met this guy who we'll call...A. Now, I had said in a previous post that I didn't have any regrets about not getting an email address or something BUT, it's killing me...*sigh* I've never met someone and just connected that quickly...UGH! This is killing me! I think that I should specify that contrarily to what most people might think, I'm really excruciatingly shy around a guy who tickles my pickle, especially after having been in a long relationship, I'm kinda like: "Um...I can't do this flirting thing!" Anyhow...I needed to vent...

Total change of topic!

The new Knitty is out! I'm really happy with the patterns, some of them *gasp* I even want to make! Like this, this, this, this AND these! I know...when I like, I LOVE and when I don't...well...anyhow! Today is also the opening of the new yarn store, which I need to go check out ASAP! So off to start Lift and Separate and watch a movie!

Swatching, back to school, never complete without a little bit of tragedy...So much to say!

Wow so much catching up to do! The past ten days have mainly been filled with school stuff. Yeap, it's THAT time of the year... *lol* My classes this semester are AMAZING. I have two theory classes and two practical classes so, this is cracking up to be an great semester which is just what the doctor ordered. I even have a professor who has already been nicknamed McCutie *sigh*. So there, this weekend there are the usual "frosh-ish" parties which will be a ton of fun and...yeah...that's about it for school.

On the knitting front, I've finished the first Regia-cotton sock, and I LOVE it! After finishing it though, I got startitis for something big and bold and that I can wear somewhere other than on my feet sooooooooooo..... I started swatching some Elann Pure Alpaca for Lift and Separate from Big Girl Knits (the yarn AND the book were a giftie from my Secret Pal). I know... ME... swatching!!!! I'm feeling like a pro though cause my swatch is pretty, the stich count is dead on (huzzah) but the row count isn't. I don't know what to do because if I go up a needle size, the row gauge might be good, but the stitch count will go down. I don't know if this makes sense... Anyhow...

Before I move on, I though, let's just take a moment to think of something nice...This is in Galway, taken from above a cave K and I visited. It makes me love Ireland to see this with the mist and all that...

On a final and maybe a little sadder note, this past week, we commemorated the 5th anniversary of 9/11, which, regardless of who you are, where you're from, what you believe in, affected each and every one of us. I remember being in bio lab in cégep working on a photosythesis lab when the professor sent us a pop-up on our computer stations saying that a tower had been hit. Then he sent a second message that a second tower had been sent. Then he sent the message that the towers had fallen. Having a parent that works in international communications, let's just say that it was a hectic time at our house... It was a terrible tradgedy that I'll never forget, regardless of my opinion on world affairs. Today, another event struck, but this time it was far too close to home. A shooter opened fire in a cégep in Montreal a few blocks away from where I used to go to high school. I'm really troubled by what happened and really sad that humans can do such things to one another. There is no word about what may have led the shooter to act the way he did, but we also have to think about kids who need help and who need to talk to someone about anything. I know that this was an unforgiveable act, but some people DO crack...so let's wait to judge...

Anyhow...that's enough philosophizing for one night, I better stopnow because knowing myself, I can talk about this for pages and pages and pages...you get the picture! Here's what Serge thinks of all this...

Your incessant babbling makes me sleepy...sigh...

Last weekemd of summer

I just came home from the chalet, where I was since wednesday. It's as if I came back from vacation and needed some extra time off. It's an added bonus that my dad threw a huge lamb roast for his and my brothers birthdays. We had a blast and ate like pigs. On the knitting front, I'm kind of stuck, I haven't done anything in a little while. I hope that the next knitting thing on wednesday will stimulate me a little. I recently found out through the Montreal Knits page that there's a new yarn store/sewing workshop opening in Montreal. It's called Éffiloché. Check them out, I can't wait to go check it out, they have a beggining to sew workshop coming up at the end of the month and that sounds like wicked fun to me! I have yet to see the new IK and Vogue Knitting byt I'm sure they kick ass and can't wait to get my fingers on them. Till then, I'll leave you with an Ireland pic!
