Irish sunday
It's a lazy sunday in Galway...K's napping, I'm just...a little bored I guess...but that's normal I guess, everything is closed or anyways, it seems that everything is closed. Tomorrow we leave for Dublin, our last irish stop. On the planner, we have the Book of Kells and sleep...that's about it...We've found that the one downside to our trip was that we planned on going to many places. In 2 weeks, had we gone to like..2 or 3 places it would've been different and we'd probably be a little less pooped...At least we know! So...since there isn't much to do, I'll go make myself a cup of tea and read more of Pride & Prejudice which I'm reading for the first time. It's highly entertaining and it's really funny to see how many movies I've seen or other books I've read that have been inspired by that story...hmm...
Later!

Regrets
My one thing in life was that I never wanted to have any regrets...i do have one now...not getting the email address of a FINE FINE man we met in Cork. Let me make this long story short. K and I got to Cork, settled into our room (which we shared with like...6 other peeps). We then discovered that 2 of our roomates were americans who just graduated from college and were travelling europe for 3 months. I have to say...they were super nice and really very funny. One of them (ok time for me to be a girl here *shreeking* he was sooooooooooooooo hot ...think 6'3, blond, blue eyes, soccer player....droooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool...ok i'm done) and I got along quite well *sigh*. So yeah, we all went out for drinks and since bars here close pretty damn early, we just went back to our room and slept. End of story... The next morning, we saw them and then we went to shower and when we came back, all their stuff was gone...*sob* Oh well...at least I found out one thing...I'm ready to start looking at boys again! Ok, maybe not boys but men...Hurrah! I try not to talk too much about personal stuff on the blog but whatever, the past summer has been rough, but I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel!
(BTW, we're in Glaway now, it's a great city, more about it later...for now, we're off for some beers)

Galway
We're in Galway on the west coast and I have to say this seems to be the party capital of Ireland!! We wanted to go out last night but were mega pooped! Oddly enough though, I can't seem to find any yarn stores in Ireland...this is strange considering the incredible amount of sheep...I've found aran sweaters already knit...but yarn to make them...non-existent...*sob* I got quite a bit of knitting done while in Killarney (our stop before this one) since there was nothing at all to do there. K. did a puzzle with a nice lady we met, and I knit for about 4 hours straight. Thanks to this, the travelling sock now has a turned heel and the beginning of a foot! Huzzah! Thanks to everyone for all your happy travelling wishes, I wish I could write back to all of you to say thanks but since using the web is expensive as hell in hostels, I'll do it here: THANK YOU!!!! *hihihi*
Next stop after this (on sunday) will be Dublin where we'll be for one night and then we're off to Paris for a week...*sigh* a week in Paris!
Mad Love to you all!

Ireland
Finally, I'm in Ireland! Funily enough...it feels very...not different...but it's an amazing place. Very pretty! I can't wait to be able to upload some pics so that I can show the world how pretty hills (yes...hills) can be pretty. So far we've seen castles, cows (GGINORMOUS ones too), beer trucks, little shops and nice people. We're not having any issues with the accent yet so that's fun...we're eating well and having a blast...so yeah...That's about all I think I can say about the trip so far...
On the knitting front...haven't done anything whatsoever BUT everytime we pass by a field full of sheep grazing, all I can see is a gorgeous aran sweater...mmmmmmm....

In Paris
I'm in Paris, having a great time. K and I walked up the Eiffel tower yesterday after crossing the city by foot with our huge bags. I don't advise anyone ever climb 700 steps with 2 HUGE backpacks on... Today we walked up the Arc de Triomphe and shopped a little on les Champs Elyses. I have yet to find the yarn store that Nadine had recommended but when we come back we'll definetly have time to take care of that. We've made some friends, mainly another Montrealer (small world) and an Aussie who we shared a room with yesterday night.
In a couple of hour, we'll be off for Ireland where we'll be walking around for the next 2 weeks. We might be changing our plans and not staying in Paris for the whole week after Ireland, we're thinking Rome or Berlin...any suggestions??

Pre travel jitters
It's almost 2am...I should be catching up on some sleep...but instead I'm awake...WHY????? I can't wait to leave!! But at the same time, I'm really not a plane person anymore. I don't know why, but the last time I was in a plane, I flipped out. I'm really happy that K.'ll be there with me, she'll calm me down and pep me up. *sigh* anyhow...be advised that I'll try to post as much as is humanly possible while I'm away. My brother has graciously leant me his camera so I'll be able to post some pics to show off the beauty of Ireland and random pics of us being silly.
On the knitting front, I've taught myself to do socks on 2 circs. I started thanks to my Sistahfriend exchange secret pal. She sent me some sexy 100% merino sock yarn from KnitPicks and 2 pairs of circs and some instructions. It took me about 10 minutes and I was off ribbing! Yay me! Next step after I finish these (can't take them on the plane, they're metal) will be to do 2 socks on 2 circs. If I can accomplish this...it'll start getting fun around here with some sock projects! hehe! Anyhow...I think that blogging may have helped make me want to sleep a little...I'm going to go catch some ZzZ's.

UFO indeed

Last night at the Knitting thing, I managed to finish the pair of blue stripey socks. Huzzah! Today...new pair of socks on the needles. This time it's some Regia Cotton! Let's get the ball rolling on these puppies! I was going to start them on 2 circs (thank you SSFE) but the ones I have are metal and since I'll probably be travelling with these...I don't want them to take my yarn away...anyways, I'll see...
I'm also seriously thinking that I'll splurge and get some yarn to at LEAST start the prairie tunic. *sigh* I'm such a sucker for pretty tops that require lots of sexy yarn...oh well..
Happy knitting!
Another SP questionnaire!
1) What is your favorite season of the year?
Definetly SUMMER or right around Christmas (it's not a season I know, but in my own little brain, it is! So ha-ha!)
2) Where is your favorite vacation spot?
I had the time of my life (hihi) in Senegal, but I haven't been in forever. I'd like to think that Ireland'll be the best, but i'M not there yet...I'd have to say Belgium or my chalet...
3) If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
Right now...probably Peru, Argentina, maybe Brasil. I'm in a South American type of mood these past few months
4) If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be?
Probably some really soft Rowan cotton-linen or some soft Malabrigo or some Manos...mmmm Manos...
5) If you won a shopping spree to your favorite yarn store, what would you get?
scores of addis, lots of sock yarn, enough yarn to make Rogue or the Prairie Tunic, some felting yarn, some alpaca, I think the better question here is what wouldn't i get...

Upcomming FO!
I haven't finnished anything knitting related in a long ass time. I think that tonight at the knitting thing I'll be able to finish the blue stripey socks. Yes ladies and germs, yet another pair of socks done...I do want to make something else...I just don't know what...I really want to do either the Wobbly Tote or the Prairie Tunic from the spring IK. What to do? What to do?? I really don't know... *sigh* Maybe i'll make up a poll about what I should knit next between those 2...Or maybe I can make the Moebius since my SP sent me the yarn for it AND the pattern (yes...yes I am SP bragging!)
Anyhow...happy knitting!

6 days left...
Wow, it's 42C outside (107F) and about 50C in my my office... The countdown to the trip is definetly on. Now I'm down to serious questionning, do I bring my laptop? Do I pack my little black dress? There are too many questions for this heat...
