Getting my hair cut

Alright, there's no more turning back, my hair appointment is on next thursday. That gives me 6 days to figure out exactly what I want. Happily...I found my hair inspiration while watching TV. I was watching America's Next Top Model and found a girl with the haircut that I want. Granted mine won't be red, but even then, I'm thinking about dying it too but like with streaks...I don't know...Ok K. focus! One thing at a time! SOOOOO, i asked a couple of friends, and all seem to aprove so, I come to you blog-peeps...asking for hair help...it's less Angela Basseet which is okay, and young and artsy...what do you think?

In other news...what other news...I've been looking at some decoration books and art books for some ideas for the apt. I'm liking a lot of greens and natural beige colors...It's cool cause I know the man likes these colors (not too girly) and won't object to my using them...muahahhahaa beware of me in control of something....lol! For the office (turning into a dining room) I'm thinking about a soft beige or cream with a mural on one of the walls...could be complicated BUT it could be wicked nice...More on that later. Now another pic of my future haircut!

Word clouds and such niceties...

I love these word cloud things, I found one a long time ago put the generator in my favorites and forgot about it. This is the type of thing that just makes me smile because it's a mish-mash of all of my own words...It's almost a me-mush...I'm starting to realize that I really like well put together images like this, I think it also goes with the fact that The Man and I are redecorating our appartment...finally! The thing is that we decided that it was going to be our home for now so we might as well treat it like our home so...you'll be reading about paint samples and seeing pics of furniture and all that stuff... Woosh, I'm feeling so Martha Stewart-y and stuff. I've never had a beautiful space belonging to me and this is totally going to be fun and it's going to make me so happy to be at home...who knows I may even start inviting people over... LoL! Well it's true, I love entertaining people and cooking up a storm and, when better to do this than during the gorgeous summer months in Montreal... Aaaah...so yeah...good times...

In knitting news...well, I can't really talk about it...but I am knitting something pretty and soft... I love secrets! Muahahahhahahahahaha!

Happy knitting and happy wednesday!

*there is hockey tonight...go habs go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's hear it for rainy days...

But first, a big fat cheer for my habs...they're soooooooo great for beating the Hurricanes last night in double overtime...I live for hockey playoffs and I feel like I'm being rewarded by my favorite team ever! I'm just really sad that Sheldon Sourray was hurt in the first period, I mean he's the main pillar in the team in my opinion AND, the man can grow a mean handlebar mustache (which in my book is always reason to love someone, I mean they're so brave to walk around with such a thing living on their upper lip)

Now about the rain...yeah...it's crappy and makes me want to stay home and knit all day...but I'm a workin' girl now! (yaaaay full time work)

Finally - yes I know this post has nothing to do with knitting - I am thinking of cutting my hair really short, I mean...I don't know...I'm just scared to look like I have a really big head...I mean look at Angela Basset, she doesn't have a big head...If I knew that I could look like that, I'd just go do it...but there's something scary about thinking that I might come out of the salon looking like something out of Star Trek...

Making a spectacular comeback

I'm back for real now, not half way for real but for real real... I finished class on friday and have been in a coma since. The rain today didn't help to make me want to haul my ass out of bed. I've also been spending a lot of time with The Man which is sooooo much fun! :-) On the knitting front, I just need to graft a toe and another pair of socks will be done. I realized that I have a hell of a lot of sock yarn in my stash, which is cool, but it's all variegated or self stripping, so as of May (I'm still doing the "use what you have" month thing), when I get sock yarn it'll be in solid colors. I want to make a few patterns that I don't think will be pretty unless it's in a pretty solid color. Other than that...well, there are a few projects lying on the back burner that need to come back out, like the Treillis Scarf from IK summer which is a pain to knit, especially because of the K7-tog. Yes, you read it right...fucking knit 7 stitches of laceweight yarn together like 6 times through the front and back and front and back and...yeah.,..now you know why I'm a bit mad at THAT pattern. But it is really really nice, and the alpaca/silk combo from KnitPicks is sooooo freaking pretty...damn, I'll just deal with the K7-tog and try to get it done before next summer because is it me, or does this sound like another scarf project that I started some time around this time of year and that I only finished like...a mont ago or something...(I still have nightmares about unravelling The Clap's stitches) Anyhooo!

A word on my Avatar...

I think Yahoo! was on to something when they came out with their Avatars. I got one and continued to find it nifty. But I was changing it around and I think that they need to think that even though it's cartoons, not all of us want to be depicted as model thin. I'm not going to take it down or anything, it was just a thought...I mean what would be wrong with having avatars, but I think there should be some with a bit more fat around the mid-section...

Ok I'm done now :-)

I can stop with the day counting now...

I saw the summer Knitty and must say...there is nothing in this issue that I really fell for...I'm sure others are enjoying it but it doesn't appeal to my sense of...youth...I guess...I don't know, I'm no knitting pro and no one to judge so...on to another topic...I've been gazing at my stash and I think I have a lot of knitting to do...or need a room to devote to yarn...well option 2 is more of a fantasy than anything but it's my blog and i'll fantasize if i want to...OooooKay!

Big victories on day 42

The Défi Tabac is officially over, I have accomplished my goal of 6 weeks without smoking...Woohoo! I also have another very important victory to share...for the first time ever, my team at Pub Quiz (team Ginormous) won with a score of 46 out of a possible 60 points. We've been trying to win since labour day...every second monday...we really deserved the victory and bragging rights...muahahahha!

Blog quizzes are freaky on day 40

You Are Most Like Miranda!

While you've had your fair share of romance, men don't come first
Guys are a distant third to your friends and career.
And this independence *is* attractive to some men, in measured doses.
Remember that if you imagine the best outcome, it might just happen.

Romantic prediction: Someone from your past is waiting to reconnect...

But you'll have to think of him differently, if you want things to work.

Oh yes!

Your Inner European is Irish!

Sprited and boisterous!

You drink everyone under the table.

I think this is a good indication on what kind of person I'm like...

Oh ya!

I had forgotten to post that it was my birthday but I think the entire planet knew since I've been talking about it for a while...hehehe...So i had a great whisky filled birthday. It was fun, I just hung out at the Pub waaaay too much though. Oh well, it's my birthday once a year so I enjoy it. I've been swatching the Morocco yarn and it's coming out quite pretty. It's lavender so I think it'll look nice on me and it was wound as three strands together so triple knitted, it ends up being a little thick but it's almost like a DK swatch maybe even a little finer. I'll try to post a pic. With all of that yarn, Somewhat Cowl is looking more and more attractive, the original pattern is made with Alpaca Silk from Kpixie which, in a perfect world would be great but I'm using what I have this month so no yarn purchasing...Well that's all I can ramble about for now.

See you when I'm a little older!

Finals are crappy on day 34

Yo yo yo! I'm still alive, just overrun by finals, I guess that's how it is with most students around this time so...if you know any students, be nice to them :-) I haven't been knitting much since I'm mostly studying lines or catching up on sleep...I can't wait till the end of the semester, I'mm taking 2 days off for a long weekend, going up north and sleeeeeeeeeeping! Aaaaah! Now that's what I call L-I-V-I-N (thank goodness for Dazed and Confused). I'm still not smoking which is another good thing! I'm on day 34 now, it's still a little rough sometimes but I can handle it. Yaaaay me! Well back to studying I go! I'll be back soon for the mandatory birthday post (muahahahahahhaha).

Happy Knitting!
