I've been MIA for a few days but I'm back! The laryngitis is all gone and I'm back in happy healthy mode. I'm on "spring" break this week (even though I still have some classes) but I wish the weather would collaborate. I mean, I don't like winter except for the knitting, but man, I can't wait til sandal weather....aaaaahhh...the sun....anyhow! I've put the Olympic sweater down for a bit until I can splurge on some yarn, until then, I'm working on the green socks and Clapotis, of which I need to get a pic on here so that others can understand the beauty and pain in this pattern. For those of you who weren't aware, I had to concede my victory in the Knitting Olympics because of lack of yarn...I could've had my first sweater done...sniff!
Anyhow, I was browsing on Knitty.com and the surprise patterns are up. I really like Starsky, I think it'll go on the "want to make it" list. I think I may have to put that up on the sidebar as soon as I have some time to do so. Other than that folks...that's all thats going on in my world...

Laryngitis...it sucks
As you can read from the title, I'm sick...which also means that I have no voice which to me is a sick concept. So I feel like supercrap today and will be leaving work early to go to bed. By the way, I've also forfeited in the knitting Olympics because of lack of yarn and, just as though that had been a sign, I don't even have the strength to knit right now. So thats that, congrats to all of you who've completed your challenge, there are a lot of olympians but not all can go home with the gold right?

a knitting video
Hello! A good friend of mine, a film student, found this clip and found it appropriate that I put it for all of you knitting people to see. It's super fun and all I could think was, what did they do with all the yarn after the shoot... So I recommend that you click here and enjoy...

Progress pics of all sorts!
Soooooo finally, here is a pic of the back of the Olympic sweater:

And here's an up-close pic of the pattern:

So that's the Olympic sweater so far! I'm pretty proud. I'm on the 3rd pattern repeat on the front which will go much faster (I hope) since my fingers are used to all the yo's and stuff.
On a non-olympic knitting subject, here's a pic of the progress on my Cash Iroha hat:

It's what I'm going to work on after the sweater is completed.
I don't have much else to post, BUT, the man has created a new writting blog with some buddies of his and I'll create a new link to that on the sidebar later. Please check it out, and if you like writting, email them and join in!
On that note, happy knitting!

I love it when the Internet is right!
| You Are The Empress |
![]() You represent the ideal female figure: beauty and nurturing. You bring security and harmony to many. At times, you are also a very sensual person. Goal setting post
Tonight, I became (well, I maintained my title) the "Scene It" champion forever so, obviously, I'm sooo tired! Everyone around me except for the man has a bad cold so I'm just hoping to stay away from it. So, to keep my mind off of this, I'm setting some pretty high goals that I know I can achieve for tomorrow (saturday). I will 1. Finish the fucking back of my Olympic sweater and 2. get as far as I can on the front until my stash runs out. After that well...I'm pretty yarnless...Oh well!
I'll report on progress tomorrow with pics (I hope)
I'll leave you on my mantra for the next 24hours: I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Still no pics!
Sorry about the pic delay, I decided that I wanted to finish the freaking pannel before I post a pic but believe you me, it's gonna be a nice sweater. I'm pretty damn proud! I should be finished with the back tomorrow. I know the front will not take as long considering my fingers are now pretty used to the pattern STILL, I'm not sure that I'll finish in time to be eligible in the Knitting Olympics pize race but I know I'm going to finish it before I go back to any other porject. That's my goal! So off I go to decrease for some armholes!
Happy Knitting
BTW, thank you sooooooooo much to Nadine for asking the yarn lady to come for our Olympic KAL tonight. To those of you who missed it, it's all sorts of super-sexy-super-soft-hand-dyed-with-natural-plants-and-oh-so-reasonably-priced-yarn! Don't miss her next time, I know I won't!

Can't post...gotta knit...
I'm really thinking of joining in on team "What the Fuck was I thinking" (expletive no really part of the name) because this sweater buisness is some hard work. I'm something like 40 rows in and i've got something like almost 8 inches on the back...Oh well, I'll admit that I haven't been working on it too much, I have to study and learn lines for school. Anyhoo...The sweater pattern is gorgeous and I can't wait to post pics. For now, I'm off for some much needed beauty sleep :-)

Discoveries
While going out to pick up a giftie for my SP, I discovered a new tea that I am enjoying tremendously at this precise second. It's Tsar tea. I've got to give to the russians, they make a kick ass cup of tea! I also saw that the new Knit.1 has come out. Of course, I couldn't leave it there on the stand looking sad like that, so I bought it! There's some nice stuff in there, check it out!
Nervous olympian...
I'm doing some good training for the Olympics, I'm making another hat like the man har (see sidebar) but out of sexy sexy Cash Iroha (muahahahaha!) which I'm almost done with AND, news of the year, I've almost finished the Platypus! I know many of you were not expecting this to ever happen, but it's true, the very fine alpaca-knit Clapotis is almost done...I may even be done before the opening ceremonies in 2 days...I know, I'm happy for me too!
These are being used as my last minute training because 1. the size of Cash Iroha is somewhere around the same as ZarOne (I think, please don't make fun of me if this is dalse, we all need our illusions...) and 2. I'm now quite used to patterns that repeat forever and ever (if you didn't get it, that was a direct stab at my lovely time knitting Clapotis...). So that's that, I'm going to go knit in public a bit later, try to finish Clapotis ASAP and the hat so that I can wear it (mmm...soooooftness). I'll update with pics as son as I can!

That's about al the news I have for now...

I'm sooooooo spoiled!
I got a package from my SP :-) She spoiled me! I'm so freakin' lucky!

She sent me some sexy Fleece Artist yarn, some beautiful laceweight from Knit Picks, some chocolate (always a good idea!) and a Moleskin notebook which I had wanted to buy myself for a while (I think my SP may be psychic). I do however now know that m y SP is from Alberta thanks to the Banff center pen that she sent me (muahahahaha! I am so smart!).
I got some knitting in with the ladies TWICE today, once in the afternoon and then again in the evening. I guess I'm catching up cause I've been playing knitting-thing hookie since the beginning of 2006. It also gave me a chance to show off my sexy new yarn as well as work on the neverending Platypus...I think I should be done before 2007...
That's all I've got for now...
