Still nothing on the knitting front but, I saw the greatest movie last night...Brokeback Mountain. Ang Lee has the eye, he's a fucking genius! He made quiet mountains turn into the ideal place for anyone to fall in love. The photography is mind boggling(in a good way) and just made me realize that I can't wait to go to B.C. cause the Rockies are AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL! The story made me melt because it's a simple love story, just because it's between two men (and quite hot men at that) doesn't make it any different. There's an amazing sensitivity portrayed between the two actors and just plain love. I highly recommend it, as I'm sure you've guessed, and even thoguh my critique may make no sense, it's just that this movie left me with a feeling that I hadn't felt in a while.
Happy movie watching!

Already over?
I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone so fucking fast. The past few days have been a whirlwind of family functions on both the man and my side and quite full of meat sweats! Yes, I know, it's the drawback to coming from highly carnivorous families. Santa was quite good to me sending me the "Live 8" DVD so that I may have 10 hours of superb music to watch or listen to! Oh yes, I also was treated to a gift-certificate to my LYS, which I must say, is quite cool!
On the knitting front...No news whatsoever...Everything is stagnant...Well...
Happy knitting!
(LOL, this is the most booooooooring post ever!)

Chrismas socks and the holiday blues...
It's been a while since I last posted and, I must admit that I have many a pics to post what with all the finished christmas knitting, my hot new haircut and all that jazz. I've just turned the heel on the mans second christmas sock and, if I do say so myself, those things are ni-ice! I've also started my moms mittens (yes I know...I only have 24hours) which I'm making in Zara merino in black. It'll be classic and classy, just like my mom :-) I think that they are the only two people who will get their knitted gifts in time because I can only move my fingers so fast...As for the Christmas blues well...I guess everyone gets them at some point, it's just that I wish I could do moremanage to get EVERYONE a gift but you konw what, that's just not possible so, pretty much everyone on my list is getting a dose of my über-tasty peanut butter-chocolate chunk cookies :-) I find that it works, when you're down...bake!
If I don't post again before Christmas, I wish everyone out there in the world a very merry Christmas with lots of love and laughter and most of all...peace!

Finals and Christmas trees
I haven't been able to post in a little while thanks to finals but that's comming to a sudden heed. I recently heard that Christmas trees are now supposed to be called Holiday trees...what a terrible concept. I know that people are all about being politically correct and, I'm no Christian but it's still a freakin' Christmas tree. I hope I'm not offending anyone but this topic just makes me angry. I celebrate Christmas nto for the birth of Christ and ladida but I celebrate being with my family and, whether someone wishes me merry Christmas or happy holidays, I don't mind. Heck, I don't know what it means, but if someone wishes me happy Kwanza, I'll thank them. I mean, if someone says something like that, it's cause they're offering good wishes so please, I don't know why people complain.
Aaaaaany how, on the knitting front, I've finished a green sock and am working on the stripey socks for the man. Pics to come. I've also picked up one of my UFO's, the Kiri shawl in AmiAmi lace weight yarn. That's about it! So off to the knitting thing I go!

10 days to go!
In ten days exactly I will be on VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's only a little stretch left before during which I'm working on some mindless projects like the green sock which will probably turn into a gift

Plus I've started on Christmas socks for The Man. Now I know this sounds super-duper really cheesy BUT, it's basically red and white stripes on a sock. The reasoning to this pattern, which made the owner of my LYS crack up, is that he'll be able to wear these puppies for the holidays and then Valentines Day, Canada Day and then if ever(who knows) he goes to Switzerland or Japan, he can show them off and say he's wearing national colors...I got a list of these, it's the vacation brain, it's trying to take over :)
Anyhow, I'm getting my hair cut today at a fancy pants, chichi place, so I'll probably have lots of whining about the way my hair looks and how snob everyone else is...hehehe :-)

cool calm and collected
I just spent the most BEAUTIFUL weekend at The Fairmount in Tremblant. i didn't think it would be a 5star hotel. Especially not one with an outdoor heated pool and 2 hot tubs. I felt some hardcore relaxation goin' on there! This great weekend getaway was courtesy of The Man's boss who goave us this as a Christmas gift. It also served as a Christmas party...mine is a potluck... not so snazzy when you compare but hey! On the knitting front, the Platypus is going good, the first bébé camel mitten is completed! It's nice :) I also started a pair of Christmas socks for the man. This is going to be cute! Anyhow, back to sock knitting!

Mittens are fun to knit
Please pardon my temporary inaction in the blog-universe, I was otherwise occupied and couldn't find time to blog. That and the fact that nothing much has happened knitwise in a few days. On wednesday night's thing with the ladies, I got my biggest chunck of knitting done...up until yesterday. I was working on my bébé camel mitts with the pattern from knitty and, I shit you not, I'm almost done! On wednesday the poor WIP was nothing but a couple of centimeters cuff so you know what, I'm patting myself on the back for it! (Applauding noises!!!)
Last night, at 4a.m, I won the longest longer than long poker thing. The sad part is that since some peopke had cashed out early, I ended up playing against one person until I kicked his butt! You know, being the only one playing for $10 and comming out of there with $20 is almost as gratifying as knitting something really pretty.
My musical recommendation of the day: Strawberry Fields Forever (yes I know it's a classic but just keep reading .................................are you still there..................ok I'll stop now) but the Ben Harper version. I can't stop listening to it...it's off the "I am Sam" soundtrack.
Happy knitting!
not bad for a post for someone with 2 hours of sleep...
