Vacation brain

Seeign as how I'm finally on vacation, I'll now be able to post a bit more frequently AND, since my sweetie is also on vacay, he'll be able to take some pics for me to post. I feel the need to show the world Clapotis aka Platypus because I find that it is the most decadent thing to knit so far...granted it's my...5th project...but hey! So that's that for now...must sleep, theater practice tomorow!

Still wearing sandals

I know fall is just around the corner BUT, I'm wearing sandals today :) I'm 2 rows away from being done with Section 2 of the platypus. I was thinking that next time I make it (probably as a gift) there's something fun to be done with colors no?!? I'm all confused about this color thing, I want to explore but I'm so scared of wasting a bunch of time and money...Oh well...I've sort of put the cabled sweater on hold due to my love connection with the platypus. I shouldn't neglect it considering I would like to wear it sometime before next summer...

School starts in a week and a bit and I'm starting to think that I need to find anothersmall project, maybe socks, but I think that where I went wrong on the last ones was that I'd like to do something on bigger needles...those US 0 dpns are just a liiiitttlllle too tiny for me...

Grumble grumble...

It pains me to say that I am actually working this week...(muffled sob!) My plans of uninterrupted knitting were, well, interupted by meetings and more meetings and then theater practice. I got a good amount of knitting done this past weekend while up north BUT, due to my inability to fix my own knitting mistakes, I had to frog the Platypus...(another muffled sob!) Oh well...I'm almost re-done with section 2 of said beautiful alpaca scarf and hopefully, this time, I won't muck it up!

My quote of the week: "When life hands you lemons, make vodka-lemonade" - Nobody famous (tee hee!)

I don't want to work, I just want to bang on my drums all day...

In 2.5 hours, I will officially be on vacation...After 18 months of no vacay, I get two weeks off...WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! First on my agenda of stuff to do, get as far as I can with the cabled sweater from Rebecca mag, it's just that the Platypus is taking over, I just loooove knitting with the baby alpaca, that stuff is so pleasant to knit that I have a feeling that the next few projects will be in said bébé alpaca. Out of the blue, has anyone ever noticed that alpacas look like a lama crossed with a poodle...just a thought.

So thats that for now, I have vacation brain so I won't get anything done til noon so I may just whip out the sweater front and cable away. I'll post pics of all my crap when I get home later.

Platypus

I'm slowly getting the hang of blogging regularly again as you can see that this post is less than a month after the last post...Did that make sense? Alright, so I still haven't posted any pics of the completed scrawl, the almost completed cabled sweater and the lovely gifts from my secret pal. This will be done eventually...

In other news, I went to Mouliné this past weekend and fell in love with this sexy baby camel yarn...it's sooooo soft...but instead, I stashed up on some Inca Gold baby alpaca in natural color(beige) to make Clapotis or should I say Platypus (hihi). I started it on sunday at the knitting thing downtown and I think it'll be fun to make. Other than that, I'm slowly planning the next projects, a hat and some mits in Naturwolle (sp?) to match the scrawl, the icelandic lace shawl from VK and anything else that'll tickle my fancy!

I am slowly going crazy...

Okay, let's recap...the last time I blogged (2 weeks ago) I was almost done with the scrawl and was starting the cabled sweater from Rebecca Mag. Well, last night, I finished the scrawl and added a fringe (ooh la la!) and, I'm 80 rows into the sweater back. Now I get to start the front and the armhole decreases on the back. I must say that thank goodness for the nice people who help out mathematically-challenged knitters like myself so that we may figure out the amount of stitches to cast on or to decrease. Since I now no longer have a "don't-think-just-knit" project, I'm wondering if I should try to make a hat and mits to match the scrawl...hmmm! Any suggestions are welcome!

In other news...THANK YOU to my secret pal!!!!! I got the package on thursday and I didn't blog or email you cause I was camping. I will take a pic of all the cool stuff and post it tonight so that all may see that I've got the coolest SP :)
