She's done, she's done, she's...well almost done...Cleo is heading for the assembly line, namely, my living room table. What a relief, I thought I'd be in Cleo hell forever after the past couple of days...see the bottom part of Miss Cleo requires 7inches of St st...who knew 7inches was so damn long(hehe...am I the only one with my mind in the gutter?...I didn't think so!) ANYHOW...I finally got past it after infinite rounds of knitting...ugh...but it was worth it in the long run and I'm quite happy with the end results! I think it'll look good on my buddy Romy who'll be the proud owner of Miss Cleo by next week. Now, the only thing is that I'm not sure about the whole assembly part b/c it was DK'd so does that mean that I assemble it with one or two stards of yarn? I'll try to figure it out...in the mean time, I'm slowly starting THE socks and my mantra whilst making them is quite...well Kadi-like("I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, bah who am I kidding..." *lol*). So that's what's going on on the knitting front with me...Oh I bought hte new IK mag for fall and winter, there's some nice non-foofy(!) patterns that i could see myself wearing so maybe I'll challenge myself.
Anyhow...that's all I got!

A well deserved break...
Aaaaaah....heatwaves are special because they make you go a bit nuts...Yesterday, after a day of meetings, the boyfriend and I made a superimpulsive descision...to go swimming. Now I know what you're thinking...whoopididoo she went swimming....well my story gets better. We grabbed our swimsuits(always a flattering garment...), towels and junk, jump in the car and drove an hour and a half past Tremblant all the way to La Conception where we ran and jumped into the lake at my country house. It was by far a trillion times better than it could have been at a municipal-over-chlorinated-full of kid pee pool. We took some pics that I'll post tonight :) I just thought I'd share it with everyone since swimming alone in a lake is something soooooooo fun to me. So there!
On the knitting front, I'm one or two rounds from finishing Cleo but then I have to assemble her AND, it means that I have to tackle the socks...EGAD! Anyhow I'll keep posting about progress!

Making things is fun...revisited...
Ok...so I know that this morning I was all cheery about the sense of accomplishment you get from finishing a project but...this afternoon, I realize that I mucked up Cleo and had to start the lower part of the shirt alllllll over again...So there, it's the first time I've had to rip everything out and start from again from scratch (other than the 2x2 rib misfortune at GareCentrale). Anyhow, I'm going to be perseverant and start over...hell it'll give me something nice to work onat the next sitting and knitting thing...

Making things is fun!
Okay, so my sexy Cleo is almost done, it should be completed by the weekend, but then I get stuck seaming it (...yay...) which is the thing I hate doing. But oh well...I guess that in order to see if it's wearable, i have to...try it on...alright once that's done i'm all into the sock thing and once I finish the first pair (hopefully by the end of the summer!) I'm on to the Clapotis followed by Christmas gifts, which I'm sure will be nothing big. My goodness, my knitting list is starting to look like my reading list(Harry Potter 5, begining of Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter 6, East of Eden, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and finally Outlander). So yeah, I'm really happy to see projects moving, it makes me happy and gives me some sort of feeling of odd accomplishment...

Boobie thing
Hourra, I've finished the second boobie thing for Cleo. I was really happy to see, earlier today, that it's not just me that didn't understand, but a buddy of mine, for whom I am now making said Cleo was also puzzled with the sizing. Now, when I cast-on, it was for my boob size (which shall remain confidential) and the finished product requires no blocking so, I guess that's that when it comes to sizing. But when I tried to cover my apparently ginormous boobs it was downright obscene. So today, I had a good pal of mine try on the 2 boobie things. Now she has MUCH smaller boobs than I do, and it fit her perfectly. So my question is...my comment is...bah! who knows what I'm trying to say, Cleo will end up with someone nice once it's done, and well...hopefully the Clapotis'll fit me...hihihi...
In other news, I got a package from my kick-ass secret pal who sent me "Kadi's knitting notebook" with patterns and cool helping tools as well as a really good CD that I'm enjoying right now PLUS...and get ready for this...flavoured sugar...YAY me!!!!!!!!!!!!! So guess how I managed to stay up and blog...yay my secret pal!!!!!!

Eureka!
As you can see by my last post, I understood how to post freaking pictures on the freaking Internet. I know I know, it doesn't make me a genius just yet! Plus, when looking at my boyfriend's blog, he posts plenty of pics...and we live together...and often blog at the same time...shame on him for not teaching me better! (Love you baby!) *lol* Anyhow, the main thing is that I managed to do it, and boy, when I was done, I felt like freaking Rocky after climbing a bunch of steps, only I was sitting on my ass for an hour trying to put my face on the Internet...I think there might even have been a happy dance involved... Mooooooving right along...lol, I'm doing pretty good on Cleo, I have one triangle boobie thing made. It's quite...boobylicious hence forth I think it might turn into a gift...lol
Alright, time for me to get SOME work done!

Heatwave!
Wow it's hot! It's to the point where I can't do anything, not sleep, not knit(egad!) not nothing...Oh well, I guess it's Mother Nature's way of apologizing for the crappy winter we had...It's also Grand Prix weekend here in Montreal so the city is packed and gross with all these people that make me feel bad about myself...no they don't I just like blaming the skinny bitches(my apologies to all the nice skinny ones out there, jealousy is a bitch...)...I'm a bit bitter, I spent yesterday at a golf tournament and got hit on all day by dirty old men. And when I say dirty old men, I mean DIRTY and OLD. I've never had my shirt looked down so many times in the span of the day...Oh well!
Alright well...the heat is altering my brain from cerebral super (!) highway into a plate of Jell-O so I'll stop before I say anything too silly!!

Is Donald Trump so bitter?
I hate money...Not the ca$h part of it that buys pretty pretty yarns and stuff, but the part that makes people argue and fight. I wish that in relationships there was nothing that was financially related. But then, if that happened, I'm sure we'd find some other stupid thing to fight about. I mean, for fuck's sake no wonder money is the number one cause for the termination of relationships. I'm lucky, we're not in that deep (or anyways, not that I know of...) but I must publicly expose that MONEY SUCKS!
And now, for the more fun (I prefer the word funner) part of this neverending serie of blah blah, I've started Cleo, she's looking pretty. But next time, remind me not to start a project in which pretty much everything is stuff i've never tried. (knitting on circs, double knitting and my favorite...the evil eyelet pattern (although that one belongs to the designer)) Anyhow, off I am to attempt to mend my relationship...and if that doesn't work...I'll knit till I can't feel anything!
Happy...knit-ah screw the bull...-later!

I love the sun!
It's official, I have a tan! Woohoo! Now, I know some people are laughing saying: "Silly Kadi, you're already pretty dark..." and to that I answer...yes, but not dark enough! I must be the palest black person I know...My father used to make fun of me, well come to think of it, he still does! But during the summer, I take on a nice burnt amer (!) color...ok it's just darker brown but it's a little copper-ish sometimes. Well anyhow, I love being darker, it makes me take on some odd type of self confidence...Anyhow...I still haven't started the Cleo pattern just for lack of time. I want to though, I'm slowly gaining confidence, I just re-read the pattern and thanks to Jennifer from Montreal Knits I now understand everything in it. So technically there's no reason for me to screw up. I'll be posting about it soon enough any how and hopefully, if I can understand how, I'll post some pics of how it's coming along.
Anyhow, I guess I should be working instead of blogging...

The many adventures of Kadi....
So to recap the weekend: friday, had a show at the amateur theater festival...it was cool, the girls did good but BOY! am I glad that it's over. Saturday, worked all morning at Mountain Sights...it wasn't supergreat, but everyone had fun and in the end...that's all that matters! Had super super supper at romy's with her and a couple of her friends...loved it! Today, sunday, got up, was happy to be next to my sweetie and for the first time in a long time, not to be working while he's off. After a...lengthy awakening process (!)...went out for some breakfast and it was tasty. Went to look for some spices to plant on our balcony found rosemary and some basil...planted it and off we were to the awards ceremony for the theater festival. We won a shitty prize and it was long...but hey, it's over and I'm happy.
Oh, I passed by mouliné today and picked up some mercerized cotton to start making Cleo. I'll start it later and I'll be commenting on how scared I am to muck it up...anyhow...happy knitting!
That's all I got!

Summer hath commeth upon us...eth!
I love Montreal in the summer, so...sunny! I mean it's almost like a reward after a sucky winter comes days of unending sunshine so that we may enjoy becoming sunkissed whilst enjoying a terrasse, most likely on St-Denis. Summer is also the time when I guess knitting becomes a tad more difficult...I'm predicting that there'll be many WIP's in my appartment this summer...I'm thinking about making the Chinese Charm Bag from S'n'B #1...it's pretty and seems like it knits up pretty quick. Plus...It's Noro which makes me drool for some reason....hmm...If i don't make that, I may consider tackling a pair of socks...(!). I don't know...this is my first knitting-summer so I guess I'll take it one stitch at a time.
Other than that...well, I re-read my last post...I'm funny when I'm angry...well maybe not, but boy, this whole blogging thing is quite therapeutic, especially for my boyfriend who in the end didn't end up having to hear all about how crappy I felt, so he REALLY appreciates this blogging thing...lol
Take it easy!
